When I was working under the Realty Executives umbrella back in 2009, there was a one page document that was published entitled 88 Forms of Real Estate Turbulence. I think that number might be low.
There’s one thing you can be sure of when you enter into a purchase contract to either buyer or sell a home. Not everything will go as it is expected. There are literally hundreds of steps that are carried out by multiple people involved in a real estate transaction and many of those steps are dependent upon other steps being completed.
It is a very delicate and unpredictable timeline.
My advice for you as you enter into the transaction is to expect the unexpected, be flexible, and make sure you have the resources to handle any mishaps that may occur. It’s all part of the cost of selling or buying a home.
